My tropical freshwater fish keep dying days after I buy them…why?

Author: I have about 25 small freshwater tropical fish in a 50 US Gallon aquarium….days after I buy new fish (IE: Sucker fish or black mollies) they die….my water temperature is set around 75, and i feed them regularly. I also have added aquarium salt and water conditioner. What could be killing them….?
Also….the aquarium temperature seems to fluquate oddly, and by large amounts…even though I keep it at the same tempterature on the water heater all the time. What could be causing this….?

im looking to get freshwater tropical fish for a 20 gallon tank and im not sure where to start, i have a water heater and necessary equipment but i dont know which kind of fish to add i want several fish that are colorful and look good. What should i get?
