If not, please state how I should adapt it for Tropical Freshwater fish.
No, I mean. Can I use this method and feed those Shrimp to my FW fish? The reason I was asking is because on the video it says to add salt to hatch the shrimp eggs. And obviously my fish are FW so is it ok to follow the method on the video and put the shrimp into my FW tank??
Question about red platys.?
I love aquatic life. I have had a saltwater aquarium for some time now. They are great fish and very clean too. When I was young, I had gold fish. I am interested in getting a freshwater tank as well as my saltwater one. I think the red platy fish is a beautiful tropical freshwater fish. Every time I got to the pet store to eye them up, I notice they are always pooping. My saltwater fish (damselfish and clownfish) are very discrete when they poop. I see them go once a month ( I know they go more, but I just don’t see it happen) and it is never dirty in their tank. I know they have a lot more filtration with the live rock and sand and the filter. So my main question would be, do platy fish defecate a lot, are they dirty fish, how can I best keep this tank clean if I choose to get them and are their any invertebrate that can live with them to help keep it clean beyond the means of just a filtration system?
can fathead minnows live in a tropical freshwater fish tank?
Right now I have them in a 20 gallon tank but i’m thinking about starting a tropical freshwater fish tank and was wondering if I could keep them in it.
Can you feed Beta food to Tropical fish?
I am going on a vacation and just realized all I have is beta 3 day feeder blocks. Was wondering if i can use this as a substitute for my tropical freshwater fish.
I am leaving tomorrow morning and will be back Saturday Night.
In essence, I will be gone for 4 days.
Which should I get? Fish or Turtle?
Tomorrow is my birthday and my mom just asked me what i would rather have. A Saltwater Tropical fish tank, or a turtle (I’m not sure what kind. I’m thinking she has a box turtle or something like that in mind.) I really want an aquarium, because I think that it will help me stay focused on the career that I want (Marine Biologist) but turtles are my favorite animal.
So I have a few questions for you.
1. Which is easier to care for? An aquarium full of SALTWATER fish or a turtle?
2. Which tank would be easier to clean?
3. Which, of the two options, would be easier to care for? (i.e. Cost wise, diet/food, etc.)
4. Which would you recommend for a 15 year old to have in his room?
Thank You! All help is greatly appreciated and I’m looking forward to your answers/suggestions!
Thanks again!
Zach
Ok, so if someone could include more details about the tropical freshwater fish, that would be helpful.
Like,
Would I need a heater, light, etc.
Also, do they need light 24/7 because I’d like this to be in my room, so I’d like to turn off the light when I’m sleeping.
Thanks again,
Zach
