Platy love and babies
A movie about tropical fish becoming parents! Platys are livebearer fish, which means female deliver live babies (fry). A day or two before she delivered, I put the expectant mother in a livebearer breeder trap. The babies fall through the slits in the floor and are safe from their mother’s apetite! Then after a recovery time the mother is released back into the tank. Aren’t those tiny fish cute? ***************** Music: “Photo theme: Window like” by Antony Raijekov 2005 – Licensed under Creative Commons
My Tropical Fish Tank (Month 2)
A short video documenting the setting up of my tropical fish tank. Will be updated on a monthly basis. Since the first video I have had to treat the fish and tank for white spot which was introduced to the tank when I added some Platys. I have had 3 fish and 2 shrimp die due to this. Since the treatment finished I re-arranged the tank ornaments and added some fresh plants. Community Fish Tank: 20 Gallon Fresh Water Aquarium
Community Fish Tank: Fresh Water Aquarium This is the Catspit Productions fresh water community aquarium or fish tank. It is about 8 months after the first aquarium video was posted. Since then I have had to remove all live plants due to fish eating them. They just wouldn’t let them grow. I also had a bout with ick and lost several fish over time. That was ok because I wanted to add better fish. So this is the new and improved aquarium. This tank is a 20 gallon, high with 2 Aquaclear outboard or hanging filters. One filter is a #70 or 300 gallons per hour filtration and it is set up like a normal filter with carbon, ammo carb, and filter medium. The second filter is a #50 or a 150 gallon per hour filtration. This smaller unit is set up with activated charcoal only. This is like a booster for clarity and toxins. This tank is about 2 and 1/2 years old and has been moved once. With a plecostomus and catfish, the tank is literally self cleaning. The filters are cleaned and changed once every month and that is all. Very easy maintenance. The light is a standard fluorescent tube that is left on for daylight simulation and turned off for night mode. The light is set on a timer. A few of the fish are over 2 years old and have been with the tank since the beginning. Rare/Tropical fish aquarium, etc
Had this footage on my PC of a very exceptional aquarium I visited, so I just threw it together with some classical music (ha ha) I actually just uploaded this so I could save it without having it take up space on my PC but if you see it, fine =P Lovely specimens. All were for sale. There was a lot I didn’t take video of actually.
Fresh water aquarium: community fish tank 240 liters
This is my 4 feet aqaurium. It has many types of small tropical freshwater fish in it. Im using the arqua-do psb bacteria, and the nutrafin aqua plus tap water conditioner to prevent ‘new tank syndrom’. The water is filtered by sunsun cannister filter 1400 l/h.
