Tropical Freshwater Fish Suggestions for 300 Gallon Aquarium?

Author: I am getting a 300 gallon tank and I want to keep tropical freshwater fish in it. Can you please give me some suggestions on the fish I should get? I want if to be sort of a community tank with around 7 types of fish.

What is a normal price for ornate rainbowfish?
The only online store that I found selling them were asking .49 each, and they were sold out. I was surprised to see them at an aquarium store for only .99 each. What do they usually sell for?
Also, why are most rainbowfish somewhat expensive? Bosemanis, turquise, furcata, celebes and the Sepik Rainbowfish (Glossolepis multisquamatus) all cost me about – per fish.
I remember when I worked at Petco we would buy Yellow tangs for .50 each and resell them for . I didn’t realize the markup is just as big on freshwater fish.
I always support smaller shops, even when I was employed at Petco I would never buy a fish there. Chains are there just to make the sale; they will give all the wrong information to make the sale.

What is your favorite tropical freshwater fish?
What is your favorite tropical freshwater fish, be specific. (e.g., don’t say danio, say zebra danio, etc.) What is your favorite small fish (i.e., up to 7 inches long) and your favorite big fish (more than 7 inches long)
My favorite small fish is either bleeding heart tetras or chinese hillstream loaches. My favorite big fish is the glass knifefish

I kno freshwater stingrays are awesome i wish they weren’t illegal in CA!!!!
