02 Betta Breeding – Embrace and spawn
May 07, 2010 This was a couple hours after they began embracing. The first few times there weren’t any eggs, but here’s one I managed to get on film where there were quite a few. This is actually a funny story, but while I was out shopping with my mom Tulip (the little pink female) jumped out of her little area to be with Mr. Bubbles (the blue boy) and when we came home they were doing this! While it makes for a neat story, I’m just lucky I ended up with a happy ending. If I ever try to breed my bettas again, I’ll make sure the female can’t get out so easily next time!

Monika’s African Dwarf Frogs pt. 2 (breeding and such)
Here’s a short video filled with pictures, information and videos on my frogs. My frogs just recently laid a ton of eggs (which later hatched into tadpoles) so I decided to make a video of it. I decided not to try to raise the tadpoles into frogs.. I don’t have the time, room or money to do so and it’d be pointless for me to have a bunch of frogs. Please don’t nag me about “oh my gosh, you’re so cruel.. you’re not even giving those poor tadpoles a chance to live!!” Well, consider all those people who use protection and don’t give the sperm a chance to live.. its the same deal here. I wouldn’t be able to care for them anyways so it’s better that I don’t raise them to die. If you’re considering getting these kind of frogs as a pet, I’d recommend it as they are easy to care for. You should have at least two for company and make sure you have enough room in the tank (ex. not like the tank that all the frogs were kept in in the first picture). Look up what the ratio should be. You only need to feed them frozen/dried bloodworms or sinking pellets every 2-3 days. Clean out the whole tank about every month, 1/10th of the tank every week. You dont need a bubbler since they go to the surface for air. They are super cute and are pretty fascinating in ways (such as how you can see through their skin and when they shed their skin, it’s all in one piece). If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I’ll do my best to answer them. If not, there’s these sites that I found …
