Tropical Fish Information

Two 4 month old Bristlenose plec catfish having a battle to decide who’s boss. They fought like this for a good ten minutes, the video captures about the last 3 minutes. They have dominance battles like this occasionally and although it doesn’t seem to hurt them much, if any, their fins do get a bit frayed but soon grow back to normal.

Tank capacity is actually 150 litre or 33 gallons. Fish; 7 black neons, 5 harlequins, 6 bristlenose catfish, 7 corys, 3 kuhli loaches, 2 clown loaches, 3 amano shrimps. Plants; anubias, java fern, java moss and crypts. Soft water, 6.5 pH and 25c. 2 external filters, 300w thermostat-heater and an airstone. Lots of bogwood, mopani wood and some rocks. Water is quite brown due to tannins leaching from the wood. This tank has been running with various set ups for about 10 years now, The large female bristlenose is at least five years old. The males are her sons.
